project Experience

MOBILE SWITCHING CENTER IMPLEMENTATION

Led the design, engineering, and construction of two new Mobile Switching Centers in the greater Chicago area. Worked closely with the architecture, construction, and project management teams to insure the new facilities were completed on schedule, within budget, and exceeded all industry and company standards. The new facilities provide the network switching equipment and facilities for the Illinois, Wisconsin, and Northwest Indiana wireless network.

DARK FIBER NETWORK DEPLOYMENT

Performed the design, engineering, and project management functions for the installation of a new dark fiber network to multiple Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana mobile switching centers. The network utilizes diverse route multi-ring architecture to provide redundant services to all locations. The network includes multiple colocation sites to allow access to existing carrier networks and to provide the necessary protection to maintain service.

MOBILE SWITCHING CENTER INSTALLATION

Led the equipment installation and integration of a 5ESS Mobile Switching Center. I partnered with the Architecture, Construction, and Project Management teams to complete the project within the desired timeframe. The new facility provided the network equipment for the Western Washington wireless network.

5ESS SWITCH - CENTRAL OFFICE DEPLOYMENT

Led the equipment installation, integration, and cutover of twelve 5ESS wireline switching offices for US West. My duties included the physical installation, testing, integration, and traffic migration of all 5ESS switching and associated transport equipment.

RBOC AND CLEC NETWORK IMPLEMENTATION

EF&I turkey solutions for various Regional Bell Operating Companies and Competitive Local Exchange Carriers to support their voice and data networks. Primary vendor (Engineering, Procurement and Installation) for co-locates and data facilities, and Central Offices throughout the Midwest.

LAN/WAN PUBLIC SCHOOLS PROJECT

LAN/WAN and associated electrical upgrades for hundreds of schools under a federally funded program. We worked closely with the client, Architects, technical team, and contractors throughout a fast-tracked design/build process. The team managed over fifty contractors and associated resources to meet customer deadlines and expectations. Created bid packages and reviewed AOR/EOR drawings/scopes, to ensure customer specifications and national code requirements were met.
