Position Available: Project Engineer
We are searching for an entry level engineer-in-training (EIT) to fill the position of Project Engineer in our Naperville, Illinois office. HHS focuses on environmental-related projects for industrial clients, including water and wastewater treatment, remediation, stormwater control, as well as industrial infrastructure expansions and upgrades.
The successful candidate will perform duties associated with engineering and construction projects, including environmental remediation, closed industrial site management and monitoring, and industrial design/build projects. Specific work tasks will include interpreting data and data compilation, report writing and assembly, engineering calculations, cost estimating, drawing development and review, specification assembly, regulatory compliance, equipment and technology research and availability, site inspections, field work, construction oversight and documentation. Project Engineer will be involved with proposal development, work planning, client meetings, project implementation and field work. Project Engineer will report to a Senior Level Engineer and will work with multi-disciplined teams of professionals, including engineers, scientists, technicians, and construction managers. Current and future projects include remediation of CERCLA sites, industrial facilities expansion and infrastructure, decontamination and demolition, industrial water and wastewater treatment, stormwater management and detention. Successful candidate will be exposed to a variety of work tasks, including consulting, engineering, construction, management, and design/build aspects of projects.
On-site field engineering and oversight / documentation of subcontractors will be required at times. Travel to project sites, up to 50% of the time, will be required. OSHA 40-hour Hazwoper training will be provided (if not already trained). Medical monitoring and surveillance will be conducted. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Masters is a plus. Ability to obtain PE license within 4 years is required. Valid drivers license and good driving record required.
